Yoga

Yoga has quite a complex history and has been through changes and transformations throughout the ages.  Some elements have remained intact while others have been synthesized with more modern understandings of the body.  We believe that the wisdom of the ancient yogis and modern practitioners has provided us with a comprehensive system of movements and postures designed to engage the entire body, from soul to psyche to soma, with a variety of potential outcomes in practice.

Our belief is that each person has a unique constitution and condition, in which specific recommendations are made to address specific issues.  We apply this belief to recommendations for yoga practices, postures, breath work, and meditation.  Our practitioners work collaboratively in developing the most appropriate healing strategies for all conditions and aspects of self-development.  We use a comprehensive approach including aspects of Ayurvedic traditions, Chinese Medicine, Progressive Bio-Immunology, and Somatics. 

Our understanding of both the subtle energetic body and the bio-mechanical body inform the approach taken to help individuals achieve balance.  Specific postures and movements are recommended for dissolving blockages and restoring energy to the subtle organ or chakra system. 

Individualized and group yoga classes are available. Participation in either can be used as an assessment for potential individualized program reccomendations. Classes can also be attended without need for further follow-up and everyone is encouraged to follow the path that suites them best.
